Ghanaian director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso was adjudged ‘Best Director’ at the second edition of the AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) which took place on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
The event was hosted by Ik Osakioduwa and Vimbai Mutinihri of of Big Brother Africa and fame Osas Ighodaro of AfricaMagic’s Tinsel.
Shirley picked the nod ahead of Obi Emelonye – Last Flight to Abuja, Tosh Gitonga – Nairobi Half Life, Udoka Oyeka – Living Funeral, Frank Rajah Arase – Price and Amil Shivji – Shoeshine with ‘Contract’, a movie produced by actress, Yvonne Okoro.
‘Contract’ picked the ‘Best Movie’ award.
The CEO of Sparrow Productions also picked the ‘Best Video Editor’ award and co-won the ‘Best Writer (Drama)’ with Herty Owusu for the same movie.
