The Musician Union of Ghana( MUSIGA) has congratulated its members who have been nominated for the 15th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and wished them well as they warm-up for the main event . Zionfelix.com investigations have revealed that most musicians are not happy about their exclusion from this year’s nominations and have decided to use the Shatta Wale format to vent their anger.
Speaking on Ashh fm Entertainment Zone last Sunday, Mr. Kwame Nsiah Appau known in showbiz as Okyeame Kwame advised the musicians who were not nominated to exercise self-possession and focus on their career.
The Public Relations Officer for the Musician Union of Ghana, Okyeame Kwame said ‘’if you were not nominated, it doesn’t mean that is the end of the world for you or your carrier. There is time for everything and I think the organizers of the awards are looking for some particular signals so if you want an award, then you have to follow their signals’’
Okyeame Kwame who is not happy about the exclusion of his popular song ‘Woara’ from this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards said it is sad ‘’but my ‘Mr. Versatile’ album was nominated last year so I’m not in contention.”
The master lyricist vehemently debunked the speculations that MUSIGA banned the controversial song ‘’Tonga’’ by Joey B which features Sarkodie.Speaking on Ashh fm Entertainment Zone last Sunday, Mr. Kwame Nsiah Appau known in showbiz as Okyeame Kwame advised the musicians who were not nominated to exercise self-possession and focus on their career.

He said the union cannot in any way ban tonga or any other song from playing on the airwaves neither can they ban it from being played at commercial programs. “In any case, if we ban it on airwaves then we have to ban it on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and other promo joints which can never be possible. If MUSIGA tries to ban tonga then we are taking a fight we can win’’
Okyeame Kwame described Joey B’ hit song Tonga as seasonal music which will exceed for another mantra.
“I will never compose music like Tonga and that doesn’t I’m condemning Joey B for that song”
Okyeame Kwame further predicted that the controversial self-acclaimed dancehall king Shatta Wale will win the artiste of the year award for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
“Nobody can compete with Shatta Wale in that category. People can bet me on this, even my own child has endorse the leader of Shatta Movement ”
