Want more Yeezus? Kanye West has you covered.
Yeezus isn't just an album and a tour, there is now a movie in the works. A new trailer, released on West's official website this morning, includes a montage of clips from the tour. Famed music video director Hype Williams helms the film. Williams has been the guiding voice behind-the-scenes of many of Ye's videos, including "Gold Digger" and "Diamonds From Sierra Leone."
The short clip for Yeezus features a bunch of the visually stunning shots from the tour — mountains, trees, running horses and women in lycra bodysuits — with "Coldest Winter," off the 808s & Heartbreak LP, as the score.
In true Yeezy fashion, not much else is actually known about the upcoming project. Screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis said in an interview that he and West are working on a film, but didn't verify whether or not it will be the Williams-directed flick.
Another report says Kim Kardashian will be involved in some capacity. "It's going to be based on the Yeezus album," a source close to West said. "That’s pretty much a narrative of Kanye's life. Kim is definitely going to be in it. The screenplay already features her character." An image of the alleged script also landed online this week. Besides the film, 'Ye is working on a new album, to be produced by A Tribe Call Quest member Q-Tip.
As far as performing goes, the 36-year-old Chicago native recently wrapped up the second installment of his Yeezus tour stateside. In May, West heads down under for the Australian run, and in June he's billed to headline the Bonnaroo Music Festival.
