On the 24th of July 2011, a beloved soul, Akua Adoma Ofori, lost her dear life to a brain tumor at a tender age of 17years. Her death was a big loss but a huge motivation for her family and close friends to come together to establish a brain tumor Foundation on the 29th of July 2012, in loving memory of her and most importantly, to help save lives of needy brain tumor patients in our hospitals.
A brain tumor is defined as an abnormal growth of cells within the brain or the central spinal canal. It is inherently serious and life-threatening because of its invasive and infiltrative character in the limited space of the intracranial cavity. It’s even worse, when it affects children; the future generation of nations.
The Akua Adoma Memorial Hope Foundation [AAMHF] has a short-term objective to make donations to needy brain tumor patients in hospitals every year and a long term objective to build a Brain Tumor Health Centre to support brain tumor patients and offer medical care to needy patients.
