Just a few minutes into the New Year, the international Afrobeats Superstar, Atumpan released a song titled N.Y.A.S.H. The song which is not different from most of his controversial titles, like The thing, Sisimuden (HARD WAIST) among others, has joined the new year music playlist and is making parties enjoyable.
Based on the lyrics of the song, one can infer that the hit maker is echoing what most men are saying these days, ‘if you don’t have big buttocks, I will not spend my cash on you’, but as to whether what people infer is what the Hard boy is implying no one can tell.
In an exclusive interview with Atumpan at his current location in, London, about the meaning of his song, he said he normally does not want to think for people or feed the public with the meaning of his songs.
According to him every individual has a unique way of assimilating and gratifying information. So he expects individuals to interpret the song the best way they can based on their understanding and background. When he was asked the future plans for the song, the award winning artiste said N.Y.A.S.H is the first song released this year and for that matter it means a lot to him. He said he intends to promote the song to music lovers all around the world.
Officially the Ghanaian music composer took advantage of the interview and launched a dance competition for his new born ‘baby’, N.Y.A.S.H. He disclosed that the winner for the competition will take away 1000 pounds and also join him as an official dancer for his 12-country African tour scheduled for later this year.
The competition according to him is opened to individuals or groups around the world irrespective of background and physical qualities. He added that “my team will select the winner based on the way the person can blend creative dance movements to bring alive the words in the song but not based on physical qualities and background”
When asked on the type of music video his fans should expect for the song, he smiled and said “my fans should expect the most creative music video from me, I don’t have much to say about it, but they should expect a big surprise and a very different video for N.Y.A.S.H.
