Well-informed sources report that Noella Wiyaala, the Afro-pop singer from the Upper West of Ghana has been snapped up by Pepsi as their brand ambassador for Ghana 2014.
Although there is no official announcement yet, a Pepsi billboard was seen being erected in Osu yesterday. If confirmed, Wiyaala will be joining Nigeria's Tiwa Savage from Nigeria as the only Pepsi Brand Ambassadors in West Africa. Pepsi is arguably the biggest player in the artist endorsement industry after doing a $50 million multi-year deal with Beyonce in 2012.
Wiyaala’s image is expected to be used extensively to promote Pepsi throughout Ghana as the brand looks to grab a larger share of the soft drinks market. It is thought that the hard-working singer was selected because she personifies that new breed of young ambitious Ghanaians who live up to Pepsi's “Dare for More” slogan by aspiring to make their mark as Africans in all walks of life at home and abroad.
