Two of Ghana’s very best radio and television presenters, 4syte TV’s Jay Foley and YFM’s Caroline Sampson have been selected as hosts for the debut edition of ‘The Big Weekend Afro-Beats Festival’.
The event, produced by BBnZ Live in collaboration with Accra Breweries Limited (ABL), is a three-day beer, music and dance festival spread across 10 locations and scheduled for December 13, 14 and 15 this year.
Jay Foley is the Head of Radio Programmes at the only station for the young and young at heart, Y107.9FM. He also manages a couple of artistes under his 2131 record label.
Caroline is currently with YFM as a presenter having worked with Citi FM, Atlantic Radio and Pravda Radio all in Accra.
She was one of the finalists of the Miss Malaika pageant in 2005 as well as a contestant of the Top Model Ghana in 2006.
Aside radio and television, she does full time modelling, commercial voice-overs and brand endorsements.
The Big weekend Afro-Beats Festival would bring together 30 top artistes and music groups from Ghana and across Africa for the concert while guests get an opportunity to get personal with them.

The events starts on Friday December 13, a day on which miniature parties would be held simultaneously across 10 locations including Honey Suckle, Shaka Zulu, Rhapsody’s, Champs Bar & Grill, C Longue, Polo Club, +233 Jazz Club, Best Western Premier Hotel, Devino DnD and the La Pleasure Beach.
Saturday December 14 is the main concert, scheduled for the Independence Square where top musicians from Ghana and beyond would perform on one spectacular stage.
Sunday December 15 would be a family fun and fanfare day.
