CITI FM to host ‘Expressions of Accra’ This Saturday

It will be a night of creative fashion designs, music, spoken word and comedy when the Adae Kese of La Palme Royal Beach Hotel hosts Citi FM’s Expressions of Accra on Saturday, October 26.

The event dubbed Creative Explosion which was launched last Friday in Accra will serve as a platform to unearth talents in the fashion and creative industry as well as help promote well known and recognised brands through the exhibition of their unique creative designs.

Speaking at the launch of the event, Programmes Manager at Citi FM, Jessica Opare-Saforo said “Citi FM is on a mission to dispel the ideology that everything good comes from abroad and also to fan flames of excitement about the local fabrics hence our strategic partnership with GTP.

“Expressions of Accra-Creative Explosions is not just a fashion event but a show that seeks to unearth the unusual, new, outrageous and the changing faces of the fashion industry in the country.”

According to Ms Opare-Saforo, some of the designers who will grace the catwalk with their works include AfroMod Trends, Ghana’s representative at this year’s Big Brother Africa(BBA)—The Chase, Elikem the Tailor, Sa4a Designs, Ameyo, Horseman Shoes and MAKSI Clothing.
“Also, another BBA— The Chase housemate, Pokello from Zimbabwe who is a guest designer will launch her new clothing line “Queen of Swagger”.

She said the fashion night will be laced with performances from highlife artiste, K.K. Fosu, poet Nana Asaase and comedian Bash from Nigeria

She also proceeds from the event will go to the Citi FM Foundation which supports the underprivileged in the society.

“The Citi Foundation has contributed immensely in changing the lives of many children through  projects such as Help a Christmas Child project and the Easter Orphan which established a yet to be commissioned  Skills and Training Centre for over a 100 orphans in Trotor, a village near Suhum.

Expressions of Accra-Creative Explosions is sponsored by GTP Nustyle, HFC Bank and supported by Sleek Cosmetics, Fashion GH, Exopa Modelling Agency and La Palm Royal Beach Hotel with make–up from Renee Q.
