Atumpan ( @AtumpanGH ) Wins Best International Afrobeats Act at BEFFTA AWARDS 2013-UK

Day 2 of BEFFTA awards saw Ghanaian-born UK Afrobeat sensation, Atumpan of ‘The Thing’ Hit song beat Wizkid, PSquare, Davido & Timaya from Nigeria and R2bees from Ghana to win Best International Afrobeats Act at the 5th annual BEFFTA(Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) Awards 2013

The event was held on Friday and Saturday, 25th and 26th October, and celebrated BEFFTA’s 5th Annual Anniversary.

The night which was hosted by international comedian Eddie Kadi and ITV news reader Charlene white saw performances from many artistes.

Atumpan who won the award of ‘Best International Afrobeats Act’ thanked all fans and lovers of Afrobeat music for the love and support all these years which enabled him win the award.

“Thank y’all for supporting TeamAtumapn to win Best International Afrobeats Act in the BEFFTA 2013 Awards” he said on instagram.

Amongst personalities to receive special honorary awards on the night was entertainment icon BB Seaton, supermodel Nana Afua Antwi received young achiever award and veteran community event organizer and founder of Miss Jamaica UK received BEFFTA female lifetime achievement award.

The 5th year BEFFTA UK anniversary was celebrated in a very grand style brought together several international and UK stars under one roof with a common goal to celebrate and honour both unknown and known hard working and extremely talented personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts.
