Multiple award-winning Ghanaian music group, 4×4 has released its 6th studio album, ‘4 Word’ after a recent album listening session with the Ghanaian media.
The 14-track album boasts of an eclectic mix of sounds and genres including the previously released singles ‘Moko Ni’, ‘Anadwo Y3 D3′ and ‘London Bridge’.
‘4Word’ also includes a remix to ‘London Bridge’ featuring Fuse ODG. The album also sees the group making their most evident attempt to break into the Nigerian market yet, with the song ‘I Go Marry You’ produced by Nigerian beat maker, D-Tunes who is responsible for several monster hits from Iyanya.
‘Block Money’ also features Nigerian artist, YQ.
The ‘4Word’ album means a lot to the group, as 4×4 marks its 10th year anniversary in the Ghanaian music industry. Over the past decade, the group which started as a duo and later becoming a trio has shown diversity and growth. 4×4 got its lucky break the ‘Jama-inspired’ hit song ‘Sikilitele’, then quickly switched to Highlife with ‘Odo Fitaa’.

Following the introduction of Crunk music, they joined the craze with ‘HotGirls.Com’, and then changed to ‘Miss Doctor’ which was Azonto-inspired. Group members Sylvanus Dodji Jeffrey (Captain Planet), Raphael Edem Avornyo (Coded) and Prince Tamakloe (Fresh Prince) say that ‘4word’ represents their journey into music and that it signals their intentions to continue moving forward for more years to come.
As part of activities to mark their 10th anniversary, the group will embark on tour to support the album. The Tour will make stops in Tamale, Kumasi and Accra.
They will also embark on CSR activities and details of this will be announced to their fans first on Facebook and twitter. ‘4Word’ will be available for sale in Major retails stores as well as digital outlets like iTunes etc.
