The celebrity mother’s day edition of DIVAS BALL was held on 11th of May 2013 at the Paloma Hotel – The Lexington Bar for star actress Juliet Ibrahim, radio /TV personality Caroline Sampson and fashion designer House of Adjeiwaah with music performance by Kesse, Dflex, Apaatse, 2ras, Diojo with poetry from RhymeSonny and comedy by DKB.
Divas Ball which is designed to celebrate young and hard working women in showbiz lived up to expectations as organizers of the event 18.com made sure all gathered had a good time.
In descending order of how the celebrity mothers were honored; fashion designer house of Adjeiwaah placed third among the list of divas honored. TV /radio presenter extraordinaire Caroline Sampson of Y107.9fm / ETV Ghana placed second and star actress Juliet Ibrahim was overall winner for the night.
JULIET IBRAHIM took home, a well-made plague from 18.com, fabrics from Da VIVA clothes, Gift voucher from Afriken Novelty, Selina beb fashion, 1 month treatment from Abrantie School of Cosmetology and photo citation from Urban Infusion.
She took to her twitter and instagram pages @julietibrahim and said: ‘I was honored tonight with several gifts and this plague. It feels great to be recognized and I will like to thank the organizers of Diva's ball 18.com led by Nana Yaw Wiredu and all my wonderful fans for making this possible. Thx to my sisters, Salima, Zainab, Sandra, and mugeez for the special support. Xoxoxo”
#DIVASBALL13 kicked off with a smooth poem from Ghana’s finest RhymmeSonny, who dedicated his performance to his mum and all women in the world. There were exciting music performances from 2ras, Diojo, Dflex, Apaatse and Kesse.
Big brother Africa rep and comedian DKB who is also host of a TV show on Viasat 1 – Boys Boys tickled the crowd with some good mother’s day comedy as he used the celeb mothers as examples in his jokes.
Lead creative director of 18.com, Nana Yaw Wiredu disclosed that divas ball is here to stay. ‘It is an event that my company wants to embark on to make sure all hard working women in the arts industry are celebrated’, he noted. He also thanked all who turned up for the event, like star musician Mugees of R2bees fame, Zaniab of Big Brother fame, Sonia Ibrahim, Francis Doku of Graphic Showbiz and every artiste that passed through the show.
