WHEN A VIDEO IS OVER HYPED THE END RESULTS – CRAP!!!

For the past few months we have continuously had a lot of video premiers in this music industry. As to whether it benefits the artistes or it benefits the clubs in which these premiers are held is another story for another day.

Our main focus is to dissect the most hyped music videos premiered recently in the capital as to whether the videos premiered are worth all the hype given them or not.

We saw the hype for the Vera video by DBlack in this country. For a period of two weeks all every musician fan was enthused about the fact that the artiste said we about to see a different video composition.

To our dismay the video was premiered and honestly, it was as usual as the word it’s self. Nothing different about the video composition, what we even saw was the fact that there were holes in the video that needed to be fixed. One could hardly tell the pattern of the story when you watch the ending part of the video.

Wow, so upon all the hype we had in this country, fans tripping in their numbers at the club, all we had is an everyday story praised as if we were going to witness something extraordinary.

Another video hyped and praised that does not deserve that kind of praise on the social media was EL’s Kaalu video.

Seriously, everyone knows the lyrical prowess of EL but for this particular video, the hip hop artiste had it so wrong.

There was a hype about some ‘chinzonto’ dance (meaning Chinese ladies doing azonto) but that was never seen in the video rather we saw some local Ghanaian ladies dressed like Chinese, why EL?

Finally, not to talk a lot but am sure readers catch the drift that we want to say, lets look at Raquel’s video for the most sing along song, Sweetio ft Sarkodie.
The hype was massive, everybody wanted to be there just to catch a glimpse of the video since the song was such a hit but what did we see?

A very low budgeted video with some undefined shots making no sense, seriously we are sure all those who went to the premier did not get the satisfaction they wanted.

So we are asking, should a video be premiered at all? Should there be some criteria set in place before an artiste can premier his / her video? May be the clubs should have some rules or something because in as much they want to make all the money they need to think about their customers for when a video is premiered and is that bad, next time, the fans might not turn up.

Shouts to Edem for the mede kuku video, great work, Stay J for baby ft mugeez and sister Deborah for Uncle Obama video, may be the rest can take a word from these guys, it will help for we are tired of watching wack videos after all the hype.
