DID SARKODIE GOOF AT THE 2012 BET HIPHOP AWARDS CYPHER?

Sarkodie is not new to the Black Entertainment Television (BET) awards. He made his first appearance through the 2010 BET Cypher which also featured Reggie Rockstone, D-Black, Kwaku T, Lady G, Tinny and Edem.

He became the first Ghanaian artiste to win a BET Award, walking away with the Best International Act (Africa) at the main awards in July.

For the second time, Sarkodie made a second appearance on the 2012 BET Hiphop Awards Cypher alongside emcees, Talib Kweli, Jean Grace and Ab-Soul.

The annual awards which honours the best in rap was taped at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta on Saturday, September 28, 2012 and aired on Tuesday night, October 9.
The two-time Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year winner gave his rap in Twi which received loud cheers from the main auditorium of the awards.

But what has got Ghanaians talking is a line in the 44 seconds rap that says: “So many emcees back in Africa making a perfect meal, but I’m the missing ingredient, call me the Irish cream.”

The use of “Irish cream” has got fans laughing out loud with many wondering why he would use it to qualify “the missing ingredient.”

After receiving several tweets on the Cypher rap, Sarkodie tweeted that, “So peeps fink I can b so dumb 2 say wat they finkin?? Like on an International cypher???”

In a bid to explain what he actually meant, the Dangerous singer tweeted: “Okk so just 2 clear things up 4 ma fans I am missing in da meal so I'm on da side now *irish cream*.. N dat is after meal is done!!!”

Noticing that wasn’t convincing for his fans who wanted a better explanation, Sarkodie added: “Mcees know this. Something spaces in between flows doesn't allow u explain stuff into details n wen its been cut short it myt mean different.”
