The nominees of the 2024 Ghana Music Awards were announced in Accra, Thursday ahead of the main ceremony on 1st June.
The awards, formerly known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), are now referred to as the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) following the announcement of the telco as the new headline sponsor.
Marking its silver jubilee this year, the scheme spotlights and celebrates remarkable musical achievements by Ghanaian artists spanning various genres including highlife, hiplife, Afropop, and traditional music.
Notable award categories include New Artist, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
Among this year's most nominated acts are Stonebwoy, who was shortlisted a total of 15 times, Kuami Eugene, who was shortlisted 14 times, and Sarkodie who scored eight nods.
Meanwhile, last year's biggest winner Black Sherif, who converted five of his nominations into victories including the Artist of the Year award, has been nominated six times at the 2024 TGMAs.
