Minister Of Tourism, Arts & Culture Commends Charter House For 20th Anniversary Of VGMA

The Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, has   commended  Charter House,  organizers  of  this year's 20th anniversary of  Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), for its relentless  quest in the improvement of Ghana's Music industry.

Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, gave  this commendation during the 20th VGMA business Seminar at Swiss Spirit Hotel and Suites Alisa on Friday, 17th May, in Accra.

She assured players in the Creative Arts sector  and  music industry, of  the  avowed  commitment by H.E. Nana Akufo Addo's  administration under the NPP,  to significantly change the narratives in turning the economic fortunes of Creative Artists in Ghana.

She emphasized that the VGMA seminar should be a learning platform for practitioners  in the Music industry to share their  innovative  ideas, so that it would seek to add values in monetizing art works of musicians.

The Hon. Minister  further used the rare occasions to assure musicians and the Creative Artists in the country about her Ministry's commitment to build a robust and  sustainable Creative Arts industry in the country.

On her part Ms. Solafunmi Oyeneye, who is a Resource Person at the event and a also a  Senior Channels Manager for  MTV Base TV , based in Nigeria, engaged the musicians  and  participants on  the topic  daubed  as :"Making Your Music Videos Works for You" .
 


Ms.Oyeneye, indicated  that, music videos  are marketing devices that are deployed amongst other things  to Promote the sale of music recordings and to Create awareness for the Artistes and  to  also invariably, create an imagery and personality for the Artists.

Meanwhile, the VGMA music awards is slated to take place on Saturday , 18th May, 2019 at  the Accra International Conference Centre, where music lovers are expected to participate the much touted  event that would crown the VGMA award winner for the year,  2019.
