Africa’s most popular reality television show, Big Brother Naija, is making its highly anticipated return next month and as expected, Nigerians are already beside themselves with excitement!
The creators of the show have continued to up the ante with clever games and by selecting the perfect blend of housemates. Nigerians have continued to demonstrate their support for the show by talking about it online as well as participating through voting for their favourite Housemates.
While there are more than a handful reasons Nigerians will love this year’s edition, here are our top five.
1. The Theme - It would appear as though the theme for this year’s edition of Big Brother Naija is “Forget Wahala.” Coming off a season of “Double Wahala”, Nigerians everywhere are eagerly anticipating how this year’s theme will stir drama amongst the incoming housemates. What if “Forget Wahala” is not the theme?

2. The Social Media Housemate - For the very first time, organizers of Big Brother Naija are selecting a housemate from online auditions. This new addition is set to come with a plot twist which will definitely be a hit amongst the Big Brother Naija fan base.
3. Big Brother in Naija - This season of Big Brother Naija is definitely a season of firsts and revisits. One of the revisitations is the fact that the show will actually take place in Nigeria. Aside from the very first, the last two editions of the show took place in a purpose-built house in Johannesburg. Nigerians are definitely thrilled to see the Big Brother Naija house brought back home.
4. Fake Housemate - Fake housemate rumours seem to come around every year and this year is no exception. Talk about a housemate planted by the show’s makers to turn up the heat of the show’s drama gets Nigerians excited because everyone tries to guess who the fake housemate is or even if there is one.
5. The Winner’s Prize - While the prize money for this year’s edition has not been announced, CEO MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe,at NEC Live 7 hinted that this year’s prize money for season 4 will be even more than last year’s.
Apart from looking forward to finding out what the prize money is, Nigerians would also love to call and text into the show to ensure that their favourite Housemate is the one that goes home with it.
