Nigerian Filmmaker Adekola Ojelere Thrills Yoruba Movie Lovers In Ghana As He Premieres “Asise” In Ghana

It is no doubt that the Yoruba movie industry in Nigeria plays a major role in promoting indigenous stories in the nollywood movie industry. Currently Yoruba movies contributes immensely to the African storytelling.

For the first time in history a Yoruba language movie was premiered a strong indication that Nigerians in the diaspora especially those in Ghana will now feel more at home away from Home.

This was made possible by a Nigerian film Director/Producer Adekola Ojelere aka merry who recently premiered the movie “Asise” (Mistake) in Ghana’s capital Accra.

Lovers of Yoruba language movies as well as the Yoruba community in Ghana came out in their numbers to watch the insightful movie which was shot on location in Nigeria.

“Asise” which tells the story of two siblings who fell in love with a Virgin , reveals the cruel and unimaginable level a brother can go just to put the other down.

It featured seasoned Yoruba actors. In an interaction with cypress Ghana Mr merry the director/producer revealed that the motive for showing Asise in Ghana is to better Unite the Yoruba community in Ghana as well as show to the Ghana Government that there are Nigerians in Ghana earning their income legally.

According to him “Asise” is just the beginning he is working behind the scenes to produce more movies in collaboration with other film makers in Ghana.
