The 2018 edition is the debut edition, being held from April 23rd – 29th, 2018. The theme for this edition is: Makeup and Beauty. A catalyst for National & Economic Development.

The goal is to properly project the economic impact of the Makeup and Beauty Industry in Ghana, especially, its importance in creating and empowering female entrepreneurs.

Activities lined up for the week cover all aspects of the industry, embracing its national scope and its role in empowering both individual and corporate entrepreneurs within and outside of Ghana.

The Makeup and Beauty Week 2018 is scheduled is as follows:

·         April 22nd – 23rd: Regional activities nationwide to celebrate the Makeup and Beauty Industry,

·         April 25th – 27th: The Africa Makeup & Beauty Fair 2018 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel,

·         April 28th: The 2nd Edition of the Ghana Makeup Awards at Kempinski Gold Coast City Accra.

·         April 29th: Thanksgiving Service

Speaking about the Makeup and Beauty Week, Makeup Ghana Founder, Rebecca Donkor said:

“Makeup Ghana started two years ago to showcase the economic impact of the makeup industry, by uniting artists, brands, retailers and content creators. Over the last two years we leveraged events such as the Ghana Makeup Awards and the AMB Fair, advocacy, capacity building and professional training to begin to bring this vision into fruition.

The Makeup and Beauty Week is part of our next step on this journey. Our team made a strategic decision to unite our two flagship events and include regional celebrations into a single, more impactful event, to ensure we could dedicate sufficient time and resources each year, to the equally important tasks of capacity building, advocacy and professional training.

In 2018, our goal is to introduce opportunities which unite the industry even further into a stronger voice to influence policy within and outside Ghana, improve standards of practice and engage consumers in new and exciting formats.”

Although the Makeup and Beauty Fair is set for April 23 – 29, its impact has already commenced. Public Nominations of the 2nd Edition of the Ghana Makeup Awards are currently open and the organizers are set to begin registrations for exhibitors and soliciting speakers and panelists for the Africa Makeup and Beauty Fair 2018.
