One of the most talented musicians in Ghana is Shatta Rako; but why he isn't given the needed attention pushed us to do a survey and that gave us an unbelievable result.
The Ghanaian music scene and its structure gets complex each day and it’s even more confusing when you try to find out what music lovers expect from artistes and what they consider as good music. Our previous researches brought us to a conclusion that, artistes need endorsements from the most celebrated artistes or need to be extra loud on social media to get the needed attention.
Shatta Rako in our honest and unbiased opinion, is flawless when it comes to writing songs. Delivering those vocals on unique and classic instrumentation which perfectly tells the world where he’s coming from is another reason we appreciate his talent. His talent is limitless and his versatility is something most artistes might envy.

Talking to music lovers across social media, they all appreciate what Shatta Rako does and see nothing he isn’t doing right. Most said maybe he doesn’t follow the current trend and he is not really loud on social media in regards to promoting his songs and bidding for endorsements. We agree with most of the comments and realized the reason Shatta Rako isn’t a celebrated artiste yet, is because of the music lover.

Even though he isn’t getting endorsed by top artistes, that doesn’t mean he is not a fine artiste. It’s up to the music lover to decide what sounds good and what doesn’t than allowing our taste for music getting manipulated by some few people.
Real music lovers know what they want to hear and will criticize “Endorsed” songs according to their taste of preference. Meanwhile, Shatta Rako has gone back to the drawing board to work on his songs all over again targeting Ghanaians and people who love what he does.
This is a new era and only real music lovers will understand what “Writing” music really means when they hear these new songs. For him to win “Best Song Writer” of the year at the BASS Awards 2016 should tell people how skilled he is at writing songs.
