The Miss Ghana 60 Years On/Miss Ghana 2017/Diamond Jubilee has jump- started its ten (10) regional tour across Ghana.
Through the partnership of Intercity STC, the team left Accra on 8th August to Tamale. They transited in Ejisu, in the Ashanti region to pay homage to the memory of Yaa Asantewaa, Ashanti’s greatest female warrior.
Tamale, the capital town of the Northern Region is a fast-growing city with dry landscape, fascinating mosques, women on motorbikes and a rich preservation and presentation of heritage. There’s also some good food, charm and a whole lot of soul.
The entourage was warmly welcomed by the Management and Staff of Global Dream Hotel with a vibrant cultural performance. The Miss Ghana team were touched by the gesture of warmth thus they enthusiastically danced with the troupe. They thanked Alhaji Zakaria Malik and his team for their hospitality. Global Dream Hotel was the proud venue for this year’s premiere audition. The Regional Minister’s office was the next port of call; where the team did not miss out on a great welcome and reception. The official courtesy call was led by Inna M. Patty, Miss Ghana 2004 and CEO of Exclusive Events Ghana Ltd, Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi, Miss Ghana Ambassador, Archibald Acquaye, Mr. Ghana Ambassador amongst others.
The team welcomed by Hon. Salifu Sa-eed, Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Alhassan Issaku, Northern Regional Coordinator and his esteemed council members.
Hon. Sa-eed, a peace advocate who specialises in social and economic development noted the impact of Miss Ghana brand especially in the Tamale district. He added that the brand has become a beacon of hope and entertainment since the Miss Ghana Queens, as role models, are an inspiration to many young Northerners.
The Regional Coordinator, Alhaji Alhassan Issaku, added the region and its people have always and will continue to support the mission and agenda of Miss Ghana brand.
On her part, Inna Mariam Patty once again thanked the Ministers, Chiefs and people of Tamale for not only producing some of the nation’s beauties like; Sheila Azuntaba, Lamisi Mbilla, Mariam Sugri Bugri and herself. These women have initiated impactful social interventions like a project on saving the alleged witches of Nabuli, medical mediation in Tolon- Kumbugu which has received both local and international recognition. Miss Patty also pledged to the continuity of these projects and more under the umbrella of the Miss Ghana Foundation.

The team also paid a working visit to the Regional Director of Ghana Health Services, Alhaji Yakubu Mahama, where the region’s health concerns were discussed and assessed for the project on the CHIPS based clinic. The brand’s media partners also welcomed the team and reaffirmed their support for the Miss Ghana 60 Years On/Miss Ghana 2017/Diamond Jubilee.
Significant in this year’s celebration is the luxurious branded bus which will be the engine of this year’s cross country trips. So look out for it as it inches closer to you.
