STATEMENT: Sarkodie’s Lawyers Respond To Notice of Intention To Sue By Kloma Hengme Association

Lawyers for Ghanaian rap artist Michael Owusu Addo known for his stage name Sarkodie have responded to a notice of intent to sue by the Kloma Hengme Association.

The group which through their legal council served ”A Notice of Intention To Sue” to Michael Owusu Addo (Sarkodie), David Kojo Kyei (Kaywa) and Kurl Songx over the roles they played in denigrating and assassinating the image of Krobo women and the whole Krobo nation at large spelt out six (6) conditions they must satisfy or be sued at the court of law.

Among these demands are the issuance of ”Immediate Order” to the relevant media houses to halt playing the song on their air waves, Expunge the portion of the lyrics or completely ban the use of the song from the air waves, Write an unreseved apology to the Chiefs and People of the Krobo area, and also pay a compensation of Two Million Ghana Cedis (Ghc 2,000,000) to the Krobo people.

In a statement made exclusively available to www.cypressgh.blogspot.com says that, the lawyers of sarkodie have acknowledged receipt of the notice but would however refrain from commenting on the matter at hand.

“The attention of Management of Ghanaian hip hop artiste Michael Owusu Addo “Sarkodie”, has been drawn to a letter from legal representatives of Kloma Hengme Association which gives Notice of intention to sue in relation to a recently released song ‘Jennifer Lomotey’, by Kurl Songs which featured Sarkodie and produced by David Kojo Kyei (aka Kaywa).

A copy of the said letter has been referred to Lawyers for Sarkodie, for due legal process to be followed. In the meantime, Management will refrain from commenting on the matter.”
