Yung Swiss Makes MTV Base Africa’s Top Acts To Watch For 2017

Rising Hip Hop freshman, Yung Swiss, is proving once again why 2017 is going to be his year. Following the release of the highly awaited visuals for his hit single The High, which is still climbing on radio charts across the country, he has now been named in the MTV Base Africa’s Top Acts To Watch for 2017 alongside a host of African stars.

The list features breakthrough new hit makers of on the continent who are tipped to take the music scene by storm in 2017.

Yung Swiss’ inclusion in this years’ list is not surprising and is just testament to the success he had in 2016, which saw him make inroads across the continent and grow his fan base locally.
“Knowing the work that us at Playground Productions and Yung Swiss put in last year, it is really great to be recognized as one of the artists to lookout for in 2017,” expresses Kyle Brown, Director of Playground Productions.

“It shows that our music is reaching the fans and is being noticed by the big guys. This year is going to be a good one for the Playgrounds Productions camp and we have no doubt that Yung Swiss’ music will make him stand out of the crowd,” added Kyle Brown.

For the second year in succession Africa’s biggest music TV channel, MTV Base Africa, aims to successfully predict artists that will go on to greater success. The list features 55 artists from across Africa, making Yung Swiss one of only 16 South African act.

The criteria for Top African Acts To Watch Out for 2017 is based on how much noise the artist has made in their region; how much airplay (TV and radio) the artist has been shown recently; and how massive their single(s) became.

Known for his insane hooks and flawless delivery of verses, Yung Swiss, recently released his highly acclaimed #BottomBabyEP which is still making waves on social media and has certainly raised the bar with his diverse music capabilities.
