Official: Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Is President – Elect

The Electoral Commission has declared the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo winner of the December 7 Presidential election.

He won by 5,716, 26 votes representing 53.85%, toppling incumbent President John Dramani Mahama who polled 4,713,277 representing 44.0%

The former Foreign Minister and Attorney General under the erstwhile Kufour admninistration’s victory, comes after his third attempt at the presidency, having contested in the 2008 and 2012 elections.

He ascends to the highest office of the land with considerable pressure on him, as Ghanaians await him to deliver his trumpeted campaign promises which include, One District One Factory, one constituency, $I million, and the one village one dam.
