Ghana Tourism Authority Appoints PaJohn Dadson As Coordinator For M.I.C.E Activities

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has appointed PaJohn Bentsifi Dadson to lead its newly established travel media and consumer advisory division known as the Ghana National Convention and Visitors Bureau (GNCVB).

The new division, created under the office of the CEO, seeks to enhance the visitor experience through an enriched service delivery program and act as an “engine room” for the promotion of Ghana as a Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Events (M.I.C.E) destination.

PaJohn is expected to bring his rich expertise in tourism promotion and organisation to bear in this new role.

The bureau will operate a resource facility out of the Accra Tourist Information Center (ATIC) located off Liberation Road, opposite the Afrikiko Entertainment Complex, which space will be transformed into a functional experience hub encompassing an interactive information reception center. The center will also habour outlets offering the gambit of the Ghana experience in line with the Authority’s ‘See, Wear, Eat, Feel Ghana’ campaign.

PaJohn will also be responsible for leading the process of partnering the private sector to plan and coordinate activities to enhance the country’s visitor experience. GTA has embarked on a process to attract international conventions, large association meetings, group business and leisure travel, sports tournaments, tours and events.


PaJohn, a seasoned travel PR, media practitioner, event planner, tour guide and operator, will be a point-of-contact and subject matter expert . He will participate in local and international media, marketing and industry events; and give honest appraisals of activities, attractions and services in Ghana in a bid to attract inbound group business.

Originator of the popular WangoWango road trip excursions currently at the forefront of the domestic travel movement in Ghana, PaJohn has, over the last 25 years, worked to drive the Ghana tourism agenda. He singlehandedly initiated and run the Accra Visitor Center, a tourist information resource and visitor reception facility to complement the work of the Ghana Tourist Board from 1998 to 2009.

Currently offering an executive masters degree in Tourism Management at the University of Cape Coast, his efforts were recognized by the Ghana Tourism Authority when in 2016 they conferred on him at the Greater Accra Regional awards event, an honorary recognition award for his outstanding contribution to tourism development and promotion, and then later at the national event, the ‘Tourism Journalist of the Year’ award. In 2017, he was appointed as a Tourism Ambassador by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to help promote destination Ghana.
