EIB Network has acquired local television network ALIVE TV, which operates on digital. The station has been rebranded to Agoo TV.
Agoo TV is set to compete in the Twi, local television market, offering a direct competition to Despite Company’s UTV.
The new acquisition is the Bola Ray-led group’s second for television after taking over GH One.
EIB is also set to roll out three more radio stations; Abusua FM (Kumasi), Super FM (Tamale) and Cool FM (Cape Coast).
The media group also owns Starr FM, LIVE FM, GH One TV, Kasapa FM (all in Accra), Empire FM (Takoradi), Ultimate FM (Kumasi) and Agoo FM (Nkawkaw) as well as the Daily Heritage Newspaper.
Agoo TV will share the same premises with GH One TV.
