It is one thing being good at what you do, but the moment you walk home with a physical proof of your excellence, you need to consistently prove you deserve it and if there is one thing that Vyrusky did over the Republic Hall Week weekend, it was consistently showing fans and critics alike why there is no doubt that the award belonged to him.
Epilogo has for a very long time become the first major event of the weekend of fun and excitement that is Repu Hall Week. It sets the tone for the rest of the events and this year’s Epilogo lived up to expectation. Other very impressive DJs like Sleek, Sheldon and Shaggy Unltd were there to get the crowd into varying moods for the party.
But anyone who was at Georgia on that Thursday night will never forget the euphoria, that washed over the audience with every track change that Vyrusky made. It is amazing experiencing it all in the crowd but it is an incredible thing seeing it from Vyrusky’s eye view from the DJ booth.

There is so much music within a time to effectively get a crowd excited two nights in a row. But when you are Vyrusky, you don’t worry about those two nights. You pick up a third night. That is why Vyrusky had previously agreed to play Last Flight To Vegas on Friday night and Unprecedented All Black Affair on Saturday night, both of which happened at The View Bar & Grill to end the Repu Celebrations.
In his own words, the three nights went in increasing order of ‘Mad, Madder, Maddest.’ His skill hasn’t gone unnoticed. On the Friday night, he was at Repu Go Pap; the official Repu friday night event inside the Republic Hall to play for Ghana’s reigning artiste and King of African Dancehall, Shatta Wale as his Official DJ.
For someone who has worked with artistes and watched crowds react to their performances time and again, seeing a Disk Jockey’s effect is far more impressive in ways that a performing musician doesn’t reach.
As the DJ revolution has swept the world in the last few years with Guetta and Calvin Harris getting rockstar status like the greats in music, Vyrusky proved over the #RepuHW16 weekend that, the revolution had arrived and he was the real hero of it all.
