Great Content To Look Forward To On GOtv In 2016

GOtv Ghana, on the 8th of February 2016, hosted a content briefing with content producers iFactory at the Tang Palace, to celebrate African and Ghanaian content on GOtv and AfricaMagic. 

The event also launched iFactory seasons offering of new Pan African, new and returning content, commencing in April, which includes the return of Omotola; The Real Me, Season 2. 

The movie and reality show Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, was a special guest and confirmed that this season focuses more on her family including her son Captain E’s chronicles in the music industry. 

Speaking at the event, the Director of GOtv Ghana, Mr. Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, emphasized the importance of the production of local content as a means to promote the Ghanaian and African  Arts industry across the continent and to create adequate content for the demand that will be created by digital migration in Ghana.

Mr. Sunkwa-Mills also touched on the newly introduced GOtv Lite package which sits on the GOtv platform providing subscribers, whose subscriptions have expired, access to several local, free to air (FTA) channels as well as some Pay TV channels for a minimal administrative fee. 

GOtv Lite has 14 local channels and 6 pay TV Channels, and in 2015 alone added more than 5 local TV and radio channels to the GOtv Platform. He said, “GOtv is dedicated to providing quality affordable entertainment to every home and with this package we hope to reach even more home, our consumers will only need a decoder and our recommended antenna to enjoy digital TV regardless they have a digital TV or not. 

We are committed to ensuring income is not an issue to receiving information or quality entertainment. We have some exciting content this season on GOtv including the Local League, new Telemundo series, new AfricaMagic content as well as several local channels that showcase Ghanaian movies, series and music”

He commended iFactory Live for consistently producing noteworthy content that sits on the AfricaMagic platform and used the event to introduce Fatimah Dadzie, the newly appointed Content and Marketing Executive for M-Net AfricaMagic. “Mrs. Dadzie portfolio is to liaise and negotiate with all producers and stakeholders on behalf of M-Net AfricaMagic, to ensure that we get the best of our Ghanaian content offered us, on AfricaMagic in order to showcase it to the rest of Africa.”

“AfricaMagic continues to invest heavily in African Content with original shows like Tinsel and 53 Extra, and has made expensive development of original African programming towards a growing film library, to show the best Africa has to offer and support the thriving African film industry. ” he continued.

Michael Djaba Chief Creative Officer of IFACTORYlive said “We have fresh and exciting content that cuts across original lifestyle programming, addictive reality shows and compelling entertainment programming. From April onwards we are going to refocus our shows that inspire our viewers and celebrate the talent that comes out of the continent”.

Some of the shows include, Making Of A Mogul, At Home with Joselyn Dumas, First Ladies Africa and Make Up Diaries.
