"The idea of doing this kind of project came about a year ago in New York. You know people will meet me and l tell them l'm from Nigeria and immediately they start asking; do you know my friend from Tanzania? Do you know my friend in Kenya or Ghana? I think the perception of Africa is almost single minded and l am determine to break that and also determined to fuse these cultures through music".
DJ Cuppy is the daughter of one of Nigeria's Billionaire oil magnate Femi Otedola. She appreciated the support and love from her family especially her parents and Uncle (Dangote). She said though many are of the thoughts that she is successful due to the influence of her parents, the truth is very simple, "opportunity meet preparations" because if she wasn't good and determined, the support from her family would have gone wasted.
