Multi award winning, talented Relebogile “Lebo” Mabotja has received a nomination for the upcoming Wawela Music Awards (WMAs) alongside RJ Benjamin in the category Best Song or Composition in a radio commercial.
The song for which her nomination was received is, You Belong, which is SABC 2’s title music, which Relebogile co-wrote with RJ Benjamin.
The WMAs remain the only event in the country to recognise South Africa’s song writing and composing talent. The winners will be announced during a glitzy ceremony on 26 June 2015 in Johannesburg.
“I’m extremely honoured to be recognised by SAMRO and the WAWELA awards. My work in the music industry has been quiet but it feels good to have something to be excited about. Music has always been a passion close to my heart and this nomination is a sign that I am on the right path” expresses Relebogile.
This award nomination is testament to the hard work that Relebogile puts in behind the scenes. Many South Africans are familiar with Relebogile the actress, television and radio presenter, but many are unaware that she is one of a very few female musical directors in South Africa.

Apart from composing the music for SABC 2’s You Belong, Relebogile has also composed music for Afro Café, Nedbank KeYona – Make The Team, Making Moves, Sunday Chillas and eTV’s I Love South Africa just to name a few.
With a SAMA behind her for Best Kiddies Album in 2011, and numerous awards for her musical production on various projects, it is clear that Relebogile is gifted in this area and you can expect a lot more from her in this department in the near future.
