Don Jazzy To Set Up Mavins Records In Ghana

Don Jazzy, in an interview with Bola Ray and Anita Erskine on the Starr Drive on Starr 103.5 fm on Friday, 22nd May, 2015 confirmed his intentions of set up an office of his Mavins Record label in Ghana.

The "Dorobochi" hit-maker and former CEO of Mo Hit Records express his interest in Ghana's music and wishes to have an office here to unearth talents in Ghana. He also confirmed the signing of two more artistes to his record label by the end of the year.

"I will wish to set up my record label also in Ghana. Bola, l mentioned it to you right? We need to talk more about it", Don Jazzy tells Bola Ray.

"Well by the end of this year, l will be signing two more artistes to the record label; one singer and one rapper", Don Jazzy said.

Today all over Nigeria and Africa, his record label is really doing well but the Don confirmed it did not come that easy at all.

Don Jazzy revealed that his new label really suffered serious challenges in its first year of setup. According to him they released 92 songs in the first year but no one wanted to hear or listen to them.

"See l have had serious challenges especially the first year. I realized about 92 songs but no one wanted to listen or hear them.  It was because l was starting new and D'banj was popular than l was then so when starting a new label it was challenging especially when l was not the musician but a producer."

Today his record label is one of the most celebrated in Africa and has many hit records under their sleeves.

Don Jazzy and the Mavins crew are In Ghana for the Ghana Meets Naija 5th edition. The Mavins will becoming face to face with Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy affectionately called the Triple "S" in Ghana.

The Mavins arrived in the Ghana this morning and have promised a spectacular show by all standards come tomorrow at the Accra International Conference Centre, Accra, Ghana.
