A Piece of Peace – The Value Of A Mother

Hello and welcome to a piece of peace, your weekly dose of motivation and inspiration. Today I would like to share on a very important profession, being a mother and the title of my topic is “the value of a mother”.

Being a mother is something I feel is one of the most important callings a woman can have. It is a profession that not everyone is equipped to do.

It may be bestowed on you unwillingly or you may make the conscious effort to do it, but either ways, it can be one of the most important things you will ever do simply because how well you perform, will either build or destroy someone’s future.

On the other hand, there is no Paycheck for motherhood. There is no reward or appraisal to let you know how well or not you are doing. There is only the love, the care and the relentless hard work you put in. There are no prior qualifications or experience because no one can really teach another person how to become a good mother.

This is because the profession of motherhood is all about influence. You and I have an incredible opportunity to influence the next generation by what we do as a mother every day. The way we talk, act and conduct ourselves can directly or indirectly sow certain types of seeds in the lives of our children. It is important that if you feel you are not ready to become one, take all the necessary precautions to ensure you do not end up failing at a task that is already too difficult to achieve with all the best intentions in the world.

This is why intentionality is so important during the years that we raise our family. Be intentional about your own healing from life’s hurts. Be intentional about taking care of yourself. Be intentional about investing in your marriage.

Be intentional about parenting. Be intentional about homemaking. Intentionality increases influence, and influence is something God asks us to be intentional about. We cannot underestimate the power of mother love, the value of home and the significance of our intentional presence in the home.

The most important thing for a child is a competent and capable mother. The most beautiful gift God has granted us is the ability to become a mother to someone.

You are the most important thing for a child. A child should never feel as if they need to earn a mother’s love. This will leave a void in their heart all of their life. A mother’s love needs to be given unconditionally to establish trust and a firm foundation of emotional intimacy in a child’s life.

If love is withheld, a child will look for it in a million other ways, sometimes throughout their lifetime unless they come to some sort of peace with their past. The emotional foundation we give our children at home is foundational to their life. We cannot underestimate the value of home and the power of mother love and always remember to be yourself because everyone else is taken.
