Eight respectable businesses in Ghana are poised to participate in a special cooking contest dubbed “Cook2Save”; a corporate social responsibility initiative produced by Rite Multimedia. The exciting outdoor event is billed to stage at the Aviation Social Center at the end of the month in support of the New Horizon Special School.
This year’s edition is the second since its inception in 2013. The maiden edition featured 6 institutions including; Jayee University College, Zenith University, University of Ghana, UCOMS, Wisconsin, UPSA and Accra Poly.
All six universities were paired with dynamic chefs drawn from Holiday Inn, Best Western Hotel, African Regent, Novotel Hotel and Alisa Hotel respectively, to prepare a feast of fine foods. Zenith University emerged over-all winners after meal-sampling and voting by the public.
The premiere of “Cook2Save” witnessed Okyeame Kwame, Mz Vee and other seasoned artistes spicing delicious-mouth-watering meals with thrilling music that got the crowd grooving and yearning for more.
Organizers say, participants for this year will cook local and continental dishes like mpotompotor, waakye, tuo zaafi, banku with tilapia, salads, rice based cuisines, assorted desserts and more.
In all, eight (8) Chief Executive Officers of major corporations and over fifty (50) business executives will display their culinary skills all aimed at securing public approval through votes.

“Last year was fantastic. We paraded the finest Cooks in the land and engaged over four thousand (4000) guests but this year will be even better. The news is everywhere and that means the stakes are high, and we are determined to break our own record of drawing out the crowd in the interest of the less privileged.”
An excited Yaw Sakyi Afari, CEO at Rite Multimedia said. He called on corporate bodies to see this as a unique opportunity to engage their clients, while supporting The New Horizon Special School to acquire teaching and learning materials. Videos of last year’s event are available for viewing on www.youtube/cook2save. Rite Multimedia can be contacted on 0303 934 109 for further details regarding the event.
