Ghanaian musician AJ Nelson, has expressed his grievance on how Ghanaians remain unconcerned for their own music but rather fancy foreign songs by artistes who are not even citizens of the country.
AJ Nelson, speaking live on XFM’s Xpress Breakfast Show with Kwaku David lamented on the fascination with foreign music by his fellow countrymen but how they poorly appreciate their own songs despite the efforts and resources artistes invest in producing good music.
He said Ghanaians refusal to appreciate their own songs is dissuading a lot of artistes in the music industry to produce more quality music due to the preference for foreign music.
“I will be very happy if Ghanaians appreciate the songs we produce to encourage us to do more to help promote our music industry”.
Asked if he has any intention of changing his genre of music, he retorted,“No I won’t, I do what my heart tells me to do and I don’t follow trend”.

He added that he has done lots of collaborations with some artistes in Ghana and Congo. He says the single“FAITH” which featured Jay Ghartey is the best collaboration he has ever done since it earned him much reverence among fellow artistes and the public.
Aside music, A J Nelson runs a family business and markets his own label. AJ Nelson is studiously making preparations to release his latest album and also shooting new videos for his new single “Still Stronger” featuring Luther.
