An already stellar line-up for The TribeOne Dinokeng Festival has been announced and now Nigeria’s Queen of Afropop, Tiwa Savage, Ghana’s award winning Neo-Soul Diva, Efya, Zambia’s Slap Dee, Kay Figo and Uncle Rex join the likes of D’Banj, Sarkodie, Khuli Chana, WizKid, The Parlotones, Redsan, Alikiba, Fally Ipupa, Keko, Xtatic and a plethora of other African stars alongside international stars Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Nicki Minaj, J Cole, Kid Ink and others on the 26th-28th September 2014 in the historic diamond town of Cullinan.
Tiwa Savage came to the interest of the Nigerian public in 2010 when she released her infectious smash hit ‘Kele Kele Love’. She has since released hits after hits including, Oyi Remix, Ife Wa Gbono, Eminado with millions of online views.
Tiwa, born and bred in Lagos, Nigeria, graduated from the University of Kent in the UK with a degree in business administration. Armed with her degree, Tiwa continued to pursue her first love. However when Tiwa got the call to sing backup for Mary J. Blige, she decided to forego accounting to focus on music full-time. As a backup singer, Tiwa Savage has worked and toured with internationally acclaimed artists such as George Michael, Mary J. Blige, Blu Cantrell, Kelly Clarkson and Emma Bunton, formerly from the spice girls to name a few.
A woman of many talents, this African megastar has been an avid songwriter since the age of 15. She is also signed her Publishing to Sony ATV as a songwriter. She co-wrote the track ‘Collard greens and Cornbread’ on Fantasia’s Grammy-nominated album ‘Back to me’, she also co-wrote Monica’s ‘Catch Me’ on her ‘New Life’ album and Chrisette Michele’s ‘Couple of Forevers’ just to name a few. She also has background vocal credits on Whitney Houston’s album ‘I look to you’.
Four years since her debut on the local music scene she has been nominated and won several prestigious awards, including MTV MAMA 2014 Best Female, BET Nominee 2014 nominee BEST African Act, MOBO Awards 2013, Headies – HipHop World Awards (Best Female Vocalist, Best R & B single), Channel O Music Awards (Female Video of the year), Most Gifted R&B music video of the Year and many others.
Efya, is a Ghanaian Neo soul vocalist, songwriter, and performer from Kumasi, Ghana. She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad. Efya got her first exposure to fame when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show. She won the “Best Female Vocal Performance” category at the Ghana Music Awards in four successions, beginning in 2009. Moreover, she was applauded for her performance at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. On November 11, 2013, Efya released T.I.N.T., a digital mixtape which consist of songs that were released between 2011 to 2013. The mixtape was supported by the singles “Getaway” and “Best In Me”. She is currently working on her debut studio album Love Genesis, “Forgetting Me”, the album’s lead single, was released on January 11, 2014.
TribeOne Dinokeng music festival is a three-day extravaganza that will see artists from all over the world perform in Cullinan, a beautifully preserved town oozing with history. The Cullinan diamond was found here and was the largest non carbonado and largest gem-quality diamond ever found, at 3106.75 carat (621.35 g, 1.37 lb) rough weight. It was found on 26 January 1905, in the Premier No. 2 mine, near Pretoria, now named Tshwane, also the capital of South Africa. The largest polished gem from the stone is named Cullinan I or the Great Star of Africa as it is more commonly known and at 530.4 carats (106.08 g) is the largest polished white diamond in the world.

Set to be a huge break for the Ghanaian, the South African event will hold on the back of an impressive first and second quarter chain of cross-boarder performances, the more recent being an industry event in Nigeria.
