On August 21- 22, 2014, the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra will host thousands of children and their parents for the 2nd Annual Children’s Art Festival aimed at inspiring creativity among children and encouraging parents to appreciate art.
The event is a partnership between Devio Children’s Arts Centre, Reach for Change and Tigo Ghana Limited. Both children and their parents will learn and have fun while tapping into their creative minds. The park will be completely transformed into a visual art and applied art zones to enable participants learn painting, recycling and sculpting, just to mention a few.
Founder and award winning Tigo Change leader, Lily Kudzro, is encouraging parents to show interest in the creative side of their children. She wants child friendly art centres to be created across the country to encourage children to tap into their creative side.
Other sponsors for the event include the Prudential Bank, Department of Children (Ministry of Children, Gender and Social Protection), Kalyppo, Street Library Ghana, Viasat 1 and Next Door Beach Resort. Other participants include the Google Developer Group and Agripro Ghana.
