Hip hop artiste AJ Nelson, says there is too much pretense in the music industry which is dwindling the progress of upcoming artistes who also want their efforts to be acknowledged by the world.
In an interview with Thompson C. D. Nortey live on XFM’ s WONNABEEshow AJ Nelson expressed his sentiments on the unwillingness of established artistes to help underground artistes in the music industry.
He lamented on the huge number of upcoming artistes in the music industry who face lots of challenges due to the self-centeredness of established artistes.
“They are reluctant to give these artistes the essential supervision to help them mount to stardom,”
He said, there are many underground artistes who are better than most recognized artistes in the country and when given the opportunity to exhibit their capabilities, can become household names in Ghana and beyond.
“We have the wrong people in the industry and therefore things are not going on smoothly for upcoming artistes”In an interview with Thompson C. D. The ‘Me Ngyae Mu’ hit maker alsochanted his admiration for high life legend Kojo Antwi saying his songsare evergreen of which generations will spin tales out of them.
According to him, Kojo Antwi is one of the few people in Ghana’s music industry who has produced songs that still emit sensational vibes which put people on their dancing feet when played anywhere on air .
AJ Nelson says he is hoping to do collaborations with artistes like Manifest, Scientific, Efya and Amaakye Dede in the future.
