One of Ghana’s lyrical powerhouse MC’s Trigmatic is yet to relinquish his full potential unto the music scene.
The multi-award winning rapper can be listed among the crème dela crème when it comes to the top hierarchy of Gh Rap music.
Signed unto ‘Da Trig Entertainment’ a self-owned record label, Nana Yaw Oduro was crowned ‘Best Rapper’ at the 2011 Ghana Music Awards. He earned seven nominations at that years’ prestigious award show, which came off his first album ‘Permanent Stains’.
Filled with soo much energy and passion, Trigmatic did a duet that same year by releasing his sophomore album titled ‘SOLU-u-TIONS’ thereby signaling his formidable abilities. His diversity on the 2nd album notched him 6nominations at the 2012 GMA’s.
The album had numerous monster hits like 'Light and Darkness' feat Irene Logan, 'Ajeeii' feat Raquel and featured great African acts like Mocheddah, Kel and Hakym da Dream. Prior to pursuing a full time rap career ‘Trig’ used to host a program on Y107.9FM an Accra based radio station.
The ‘My Jolle’ hit maker has a flair for diction as he occasionally blends ‘Ga’ a local dialect with English which depicts a high level of intellect in most of his songs.
Also not only is he recognized as a rapper but he has been tagged an icon making him a household name with his songs on the lips of many.
His latest single, ‘Wu sika Nti’ off his upcoming album have been enjoying massive airplay aside getting 3cut nods for the VGMA’s, indicating his unique talent. In addition ‘Not Alone’ which is part of the track listing set to be released on the new album was nominated 4 times at last year’s Ghana Music Awards.
In an exclusive interaction with www.georgebritton.com , Trigmatic hinted his new video featuring Orenzi titled ‘Babe wait’ will be shot in Ghana by a Nigerian director alongside Prince Dovlo.
