Sector Minister Hosts MUSIGA Delegation

The Minister for Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare has commended MUSIGA for its efforts towards the development of the music industry. The Minister was speaking during a visit by a delegation from the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

The visit was to show appreciation for the Ministry’s support of the Union and in particular the just ended GMW Festival. The delegation also presented a copy of a draft report by KPMG on the comprehensive study the firm has conducted on the Ghanaian MUSIC Industry.

Addressing the delegation, the Minister encouraged the leadership of the Union to maximize its efforts to promote unity among musicians and other smaller organizations in the industry for the good of the industry. Hon Ofosu Agyare noted that as a ministry they will continue to do their best to support the growth of the industry adding that industry practitioners should maintain high standards and professionalism.
The President of the Union Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour who led the delegation thanked the minister on behalf of all members of the Union and assured the Minister of the leadership’s commitment to work for the interest of its members.

Obour also presented the Highlights of The Union’s activity plan for 2014 and a copy of the Union’s BRAZIL 2014 ‘MUSIG4 GOALS Project to the Minister.
Members of the MUSIGA delegation included the past President Diana Hopeson, General Secretary Deborah Anaman, the National Organizer Chizzy Wailer, the Ashanti regional secretary Evans Kusi and the Greater Accra regional chairman, Tic Tac.
