Eugenia is new Vlisco Ambassador

Eugenia Mawuena Adjoa Tachie-Menson’s face glowed with pride as she clutched the bouquet of flowers and the trophy for becoming this year’s Vlisco  Brand Ambassador.

She was chosen above broadcaster and communications consultant, Anita Erskine-Amaizo and  accountant, Ayesha Bedwei at the well- attended Vlisco event at the Labadi Beach Hotel last Saturday in Accra. Eugenia is a social entrepreneur.

The three were selected from many entries received as those to vie to become the 2014 Vlisco ambassador. Throughout last month, these women appeared on many media platforms to grant interviews and to seek the public’s votes to be named as the new Vlisco Ambassador.

The event brought together a lot of influential women like the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ms Dzifa Gomashie;  former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and CEO of Salt and Light Ministries, Ms Joyce Rosalind Aryee.
Also present were last year’s  Vlisco Ambassador, Dr Ellen Maame Hagan of L’Aine Services Limited and some of last year’s contestants.

It kicked off with over an hour of cocktails and once everyone made their way into the Omanye Hall, the action began.

MCs were Viasat 1’s morning show host Korkui Selormey and award-winning Nigerian movie star Stephanie Okereke-Linus who gave everyone a good laugh with her pronounciation of Ghanaian names.

The three contestants took turns on stage to have a chat with Stephanie, sharing their dreams and aspirations with the audience. They were all  impressive to the extent that if that segment alone determined who the winner would be, it would have been very difficult for the organisers to choose a winner.

It was not just about crowning the Vlisco ambassador. There was a dance performance and a fashion show which thrilled everyone present. There was also a solidarity message from Vlisco.
