V.G.M.A Board To Decide The Fate Of Sonnie Badu`s "Wonder God"

Many entertainment lovers and pundits are calling for changes to be effected in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nomination list. Without any doubt, the New Artiste of the Year category is one category that has sparked so much controversy; hence calls for all the nominees to be axed from that category and names of other artistes introduced.

According to my reliable source on the VGMA Board, there wouldn’t be any change in the New Artiste of the Year category. This means that Akwaboah, Joey B and Mark Okraku Mantey’s Kumi Guitar are still in contention for the New Artiste of the Year award.

Deep- throat information from my reliable source also indicates that the fate of Sonnie Badu’s ‘’Wonder God’’ will be decided on when the VGMA Board meets anytime soon. It is common knowledge that a live public performance of ‘’Wonder God’’ was uploaded on Sonnie Badu’s website in 2012 and the studio-recorded version of the song was released in 2013. The VGMA Board will therefore meet to decide whether the live public performance of ‘’Wonder God’’ uploaded on Sonnie Badu’s website in 2012 can be deemed as a release.

If it`s deemed as a release, what it means is that Sonnie Badu’s ‘’Wonder  God’’ would be taken off  the Gospel Song  of the Year Category as well as the Best Male Vocal Performance category.
