Meet The MTN Heroes of Change Judges

Excitement is rising among followers of the MTN “Heroes of Change” project, a serialized television programme which has an amount of GH¢50,000 to give to an individual who is engaged in an extraordinary charity activity in Ghana.

There are some 20 contestants competing in six categories and the winner would be selected by a highly respected panel made up of  Albert Ocran, international motivational speaker, author and minister of the gospel; Sidney Casely Hayford, a Chartered Accountant as well as business and financial analyst; Alhaji Ibrahim Awal, founder and CEO of Marble Communications Group, publishers of The Finder newspaper and Dr. Doris Yaa Dartey, a communications professional and Board Chair of the Graphic Communications Group Limited.

The winner of each of the six categories would receive an amount of GH¢10,000 while the ultimate winner will be given project support of up to GH¢50,000 as a reward for their good work.

Criteria for the award categories are as follow:
Community Crusader – an individual or group that has generated a proven indigenous solution to a persistent local, national or social issue with results.

Social Protection – an individual or group that has advanced the cause of the vulnerable and marginalized in society.

Health – an individual or group that has dedicated services to awareness creation and advocacy for eradication of any identifiable health issue or has helped to provide health facility for a community.

Environment – an individual or group that has devoted significant time and effort to creating environmental awareness and improving the general environmental condition of Ghanaians.

Economic Empowerment - an individual or group that has engaged in projects aimed at building the capacity of members of a community in order for them to become self-sufficient and to enhance their livelihoods.

Education – An individual or group that has engaged in educational projects aimed at improving literacy in our communities and acted as an agent of social change.

The project is directed by Ivan Quashigah’s Farmhouse Productions, and airs on Sundays on Crystal TV (7:30pm); Metro TV (8:00pm); Multi TV (8:00pm); eTV Ghana (8:00pm) and TV Africa (8:30pm).
