Government has agreed to proposals to name a street after ace Joy FM presenter Komla Afeke Dumor. The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, announced that government has directed the Ketu South District Assembly, where Komla Dumor hailed from, to name a street after him.
The MP, who is also the Minister of Trade and Industry was speaking in Parliament on Thursday, where MPs spent time to eulogise Komla Dumor, a former host of Joy FM’s flagship programme, Super Morning Show.
Early on, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Fifi Kwetey read a statement to that effect.
According to the Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Adwoa Safo, it is necessary for a street to be named after him to recognise his contribution to the country as a journalist.
Komla Afeke Dumor, a former Ghana Journalist of the Year, who was with the BBC World Service and Focus on Africa died of cardiac arrest on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at age 41 in London.The MP, who is also the Minister of Trade and Industry was speaking in Parliament on Thursday, where MPs spent time to eulogise Komla Dumor, a former host of Joy FM’s flagship programme, Super Morning Show.
