Do Ghanaian musicians have assets? STOP BRAGGING AND DECLARE THEM

Most often we hear some Ghanaian musicians openly bragging about the amount of money and assets they have. Some of them do it lyrically while others do it during promotions.

The funny thing is, when a writer challenges them about their net profit from either a record label signing, brand endorsement, music video or an event these brags cannot openly declare how much they have.

Now, nanayaw18.com’s question, do our favorite musicians have assets? If they do can those assets be quantified in terms of figures and why don’t they declare them?
Let’s do a little education here, so what is an asset?

It is more or less like a property, possession or resources owned by a subject.

The definition says a possession, resources and properties, how many musicians in Ghana have openly known assets according to the definition.

Very frequently we hear of Forbes.com ranking top 10 rich hip hop artistes, Top 10 young billionaires, and so on. Forbes is able to do these ranks in the western world for their music industry because every musician’s assets are openly known and can be quantified.

These musicians from the foreign land even though they brag a lot about their resources, many of them actually have it, something which is known by the general public.

Hence when such a person is talking about riches whether in his music, interviews and social media pages, you know where he / she is coming from.

Back to the Ghanaian musicians; can we say so for them? Can we rank our local musicians; let’s say, we ranking top 10 rich hip life artistes in Ghana, can it be possible.

I don’t believe it will ever be possible because the musicians are always lying about their assets, wealth and deals.

If any Ghanaian musician ever says in his music that he has assets, or wealth and cannot prove it, please he / she should give us a break.

It is proven on so many occasions where our musicians have failed to provide answers to the question ‘How much was the deal’ during either their brand endorsement out door, new record label signing or an upcoming press conference.

The popular saying from them (musicians) is ‘it is between the brand and me’. If the deal is between you and the brand or whoever is signing you, why do you bother us with I am rich, do you know how much money I am make, and the likes.

From today any musician who cannot be bold enough to declare his assets or wealth because he / she thinks Ghanaians will say he / she is a show off should realize that the western world that they look up to do it with ease.

If you have assets declare it or forever hold your peace.
