Fiesta launches One Ghana Concert to unify the country

Fiesta, a digital television channel, which promotes 100% Ghanaian music, over the weekend, outdoored a concert dubbed "One Ghana" which was aimed at unifying Ghanaians through music.

The concert, the brainchild of Ohene Media, is scheduled for December 8, and is expected to bring together Ghanaians from all the ten regions to celebrate the peace Ghana had enjoyed during and after the Supreme Court verdict.

Speaking at the launch, Abraham Ohene Djan, CEO of Ohene media (OM), operators of Fiesta, explained that the "One Ghana"  is a free open-air concert, which would be organized annually.

According to him, this year's concert will focus on using music "as a unifying tool for bringing Ghanaians together to celebrate peace and also encourage political harmony."
"We have realized that music and entertainment is one of the key elements that brings us together irrespective of our political affiliations or tribal differences and with this in mind our aim is to strengthen peace and unity the country through music. Though it's a free to attend concert, our target is the youth since there are the people who are used in spearheading violence and disturbances," he noted.

Additionally, Mr. Ohene Djan noted that already, a special invitation has been extended to the minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts,  Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare to come on board.

He said special invitations would also be sent to the leaders of the various political parties, the Musicians Union of Ghana, the National Peace Council, the Office of the Chief Imam and other noticeable groups as well.

Production Manager for Ohene Media,  Isaac Martey, on his part pointed out that subsequent editions of the concert would be held in other regions as well.

He therefore called on all Ghanaians especially the youth and corporate institutions to support the "One Ghana" concert.

"We see the youth as the future leaders and so it is important for them to come on board to support this initiative, we also see peace as a key catalyst to development," he intimated.
