Aspiring singer, Ryan who used to work as a music studio assistant has won the third season of Vodafone Icons, dubbed the Street Edition.
He beat Kelvin to win the ultimate prize package valued at GHC 250,000. The prize package includes a brand new Kia Sportage, Samsung products and a recording contract with one of the world’s biggest record label, Universal Music.
The finale opened with a group performance from all 4 finalists before they each got to later perform their individual songs including their favorite performances from the entire season.
There was also a performance by the show’s vocal coach, Akwaboah as well as guest performances from Tee Phlow and the ever so amazing, Sarkodie.
Marion and Budda were evicted before the final set of performances that saw Kelvin and Ryan doing their original songs.
The original song will be available for download from Monday, September 9 on www.vodafonelive.com.gh
South African Idols Judge and CEO Universal Music, South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, Randall Abrahams who was excited to be in Ghana for the finale remarked “Music is an integral part of our African culture and Vodafone icon represents that”
Uche Ofodile, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana commented: “We are content with Ryan winning. I think Ryan is the whole package, he’s got the looks, he’s got the swag and he can sing.
So we are looking forward to putting his new single out on Vodafonelive and we will start working with him towards his album.”
Ryan also commented: “I feel so happy. God has really blessed me and followed me through this journey and I thank everybody for voting for me.
I am very prepared to go into the music industry because I used to work at a studio and I have a lot of music already. So I now have to bring them out and push it for people to know about it.”
