CONFIDENCE ANGRY WITH GHANA DJ AWARDS ORGANIZERS

With anticipation riding high on the countdown to Ghana DJ Awards, information reaching Scratch Magazine indicates that Confidence Haugen, CEO of Aphrodisiac Night Club and contestant of Big Brother Africa 2011 has uttered her displeasure at the selection board of Ghana DJ Awards for tagging MC Commotion as an MC at Rockstones, instead of ‘Aphro’.

According to our source, Confidence argues that MC Commotion should have been nominated for her club, Aphrodisiac Night Club instead of Rockstones Office since that was where he attained his popularity from.

She was said to have further accused the selection board for the first ever DJ Awards for not being fair to her after grooming MC Commotion to be one of Ghana’s finest MCs and should have rather acknowledged her company’s effort on this event.

GHANA DJ AWARDS FINALLY SET FOR FEBRUARY 15

The wait is finally over as Ghana DJ Awards organizers, Merqury Republic, announce February 15th as the date for the highly anticipated event which was postponed last October due to unforeseeable circumstances.

Courtesy Blue Jeans Energy Drink, Fiesta Condoms, Bensung Institute, Stallion Motors  and Scratch Studios, the much awaited annual event which comes off at the National Theatre a day after Valentines at 7:00pm has  been repackaged with more exciting features under the theme ‘Rhythm Nation’ and  promises to become one of the biggest awards events in Ghana.

“We thank all the DJs, industry personnel, our fans and the press for bearing with us and supporting the movement through difficult times. It is our promise that things will be better in the coming years” Chief Executive Officer of Merqury Republic has said in a statement.

According to the organizers, prior to the main event on the D-day, there will be a press cocktail/ briefing to give insightful information to accredited media personnel who will cover the program.

Also, unlike many award winners who receive nothing for their honors, the GHANA DJ AWARDS will give to its awards winners GHC500 for every award, coming along with some special goodies from the sponsors including computer software training programs from Bensung Computer Institute.

I AM NOT IN ANY RELATIONSHIP - YVONNE NELSON DECLARES

Sassy actress, Yvonne Nelson has reacted to speculations that she is back into the arms of Nigerian singer Iyanya, insisting she is still single.

News went viral Tuesday that the actress and the Kukere hit singer had patched up their differences that emerged late last year and were now in love again.

Late last year, the actress was reported to have taken to social media site, Twitter, to announce her displeasure over a relationship gone bad with an unnamed man – believed to be Iyanya, born Iyanya Mbuk.

NERO-X WINS MAIDEN EDITION OF BORN STARZ

After weeks of auditions and competition, Takoradi-based singer and guitarist, Joseph Nkrumah Buabeng, a.k.a Nero-X, has emerged winner of the first edition of Born Starz.

The final showdown of Born Starz came off last Friday at the Accra International Conference Centre with fierce competition among the finalists Prince, Divinity Blazers, Felicity, Nero-X and Maame Esi.

The contestant who wowed the crowd the most, Prince, the only rapper among the finalists, failed to sail through to the top three. This was because the voting results did not favour him. Judge David Oscar, who hinted Prince as his favourite at the semifinal, was disappointed as Chris Attoh announced the end of the road for him. Dance group Divinty Blazers also put up an exceptional performance which earned them praises from Ben Brako, Paulina Oduro and David Oscar. However, their votes were not enough to help the group to progress.

After a second round of performances by the top three, Felicity Borkerty placed third, and wins a small LED TV, a water boiler and sandwich maker, and a mentoring session with a celebrity; Maame Esi Elizabeth Awortwi, who came second, goes home with a medium-size LED TV, a water boiler and sandwich maker, and a mentoring session with a celebrity; and the winner Nero-X, will be leaving for the UK on an all-expense-covered trip in March.
