VVIP Joins National Cleanup Campaign

Hiplife group VVIP will be joining the second edition of the national sanitation day cleanup exercise scheduled for Saturday December 6th, 2014.

“We are dedicating our celebrity to cleaning up this country…That cholera issue is real,” group member Reggie Rockstone told Kafui Dey on MONRING STARR Friday December 5th, 2014.

“We start from Nima. We partner with the Government, Hon Julius Debrah…I’m usually very wary of Government, but for an initiative like this, I definitely have to. Also I do it for my father who was the first Ghanaian to go on hunger strike…,” Rockstone said.

The National Sanitation Day was instituted by the Government in November as part of efforts towards ridding the country of filth. It is done monthly.

President John Mahama, Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Accra Mayor Alfred Oko Vanderpuije and other prominent Ghanaians took part in the first edition.

Rockstone said VVIP’s involvement is aimed at adding some “hipness” to the cleanup exercise. He urged all Ghanaians to be part of the exercise irrespective of their status and class in society.
