President John Kufuor says he was “caught off guard” following the shocking death of ace Ghanaian broadcaster Komla Dumor.
According to him, he was transiting in London to Africa when the sad news of the death of Komla Dumor hit him.
The BBC Focus on Africa presenter died in his London residence Saturday. Reports say he died from heart attack.
Tributes have since been pouring from all quarters of the globe. President Kufuor told the BBC the news is “so shocking.”
“He was only 41 and looked so fit. It is unbelievable that such a thing will happen to him now."
Asked if he listened to him on Joy FM, President Kufuor said “I knew him and at a point I asked him to serve on a board for the youth,” he revealed, an appointment which Komla is believed to have turned down.
“He was a social person, always with a smile and quite polite to the society. A bright broadcaster with great promise but who has been cut off midstream ,” President Kufuor stated.According to him, he was transiting in London to Africa when the sad news of the death of Komla Dumor hit him.
