AskIfa.ng has proven yet again to be a brand fully aware of social causes and vices, with its monthly Spoken Word Hangout.
Held at Ethnic Heritage Centre 35A Raymond Njoku St, Ikoyi Lagos, the focus of this month’s Demystifying Tech was focused on the silent killer “Depression”.
The focus was a tribute to CNN’s Anthony Bourdain and others who have been lost in the tides of depression.
According to a World bank Statistics, 22% of Nigerians suffer chronic depression, which accounts for 43,560,000 of the general population of the country.

The brand is well aware of this menace in the society, and in partnership with M.A.N.I brought out a longlist of poets to tackle this issue.
Speaking at the event was Zacchaeus Isaac Owolabi a member of M.A.N.I who shed light on the presence of this bug in our society.
Depression has killed more people than you can imagine, this is because we live in a society that allows people cloak how they feel, most people tend to live in a disguise and most people do not really care, but you have to find your strength you have to realise that your life is worth fighting for, you are not alone that why M.A.N.I cares that’s we are here.
Also, at the event Charles Edosomwan mentioned that;
It is time for us to make a change, it is time for us to begin to speak-up, we do not have to let the next person beside us die. We have to be very intention about our words and actions, we have to mean our smiles, we have to mean our truth, we should also learn to build a community bricked on trust. Depression is real, we do not have wait for obituaries to questions mean every, how are you?
The event was a mixture of pleasure, truth, and creativity imbedded in the lines of metaphor and wit.
