The second edition of the prestigious Ghana Makeup Awards successfully came off at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast in Accra on Saturday April 28, 2018.
The ceremony which was part of the Makeup & Beauty Week was to celebrate excellence in the makeup and beauty industry. It was attended by a number of stakeholders from across the country, government officials and some celebrities.
Among them were Martha Ankomah, Menaye Donkor, Communications Minister - Ursula Owusu, Deputy Minister for Information - Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Deputy Chief of Staff - Abu Jinapor and others.
Organised by Makeup Ghana, it was hosted by Juliet Ibrahim and Ato Turkson and had music performances from different young artistes including Adoma. 2,400 entries were received for the awards but at the end, 22 individuals and businesses who have distinguished themselves in the makeup industry went home with awards.

Among them were Zynnell Zuh who was adjudged the winner of the Most Glamorous Celebrity Award. Sandra Don-Arthur (alexandrinamakeup), a renowned makeup artist, also left the award ceremony with two major awards – Makeup Artist of the Year and Best Editorial Makeup Artist. Other winners include Marfoa Acheampong (touchmakeupartistry), who took Best Special Effects Makeup Artist; Valerie Lawson (mzl4wson) for Best Bridal Makeup Artist; Augustine Osei (barimah_makeup_artistry ) for Best Celebrity Makeup Artist and Martina Asante (facemechanicgh) for Most Promising Makeup Artist.
